Epiphany of the Lord Parish was born from the deep roots of four vibrant Catholic communities: St. Joseph in Waterloo, St. Mary of the Nativity in Marshall, Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Sun Prairie, and St. Albert the Great in Sun Prairie. Each of these churches has nurtured generations in faith through baptisms, weddings, funerals, school traditions, and weekly celebrations of the Eucharist. Now united as one parish family, we carry forward their legacy—cherishing the history we’ve inherited and working together to ensure our churches remain strong, safe, and welcoming for generations to come.
WHERE WE ARE TODAY In December 2024, Epiphany of the Lord Parish completed a professional facilities assessment with FINDORFF across all four church campuses and additional parish buildings. The findings were clear: our buildings are in need of significant investment. Some of these repairs can wait. Others simply cannot.
THE URGENT WORK AHEAD This summer, we are moving forward with five critical projects—repairs chosen for their urgency, impact, and necessity to preserve the daily life and worship of our parish community:
St. Albert the Great – New A/C System & Air Handling Unit
The current system is failing and is operating at only 50% of its capacity. It cannot be repaired and needs to be replaced. The replacement cost is $270,000.
Sacred Hearts Church – Roof Replacement
Replace the roof of Sacred Hearts church, which is believed to be 30 years old or older. The shingles are in poor condition and are missing or damaged in many spots. The cost is estimated to be $75,000.
Sacred Hearts Daycare – Roof Replacement
Replace the roof at the Daycare center on the central campus. It is leaking in many spots. The estimate is $20,000.
Sacred Hearts – Stormwater Drainage Repair
Stormwater drainage was improperly installed, which collects some of the roof water from Sacred Hearts church. The City of Sun Prairie has informed us that we are not allowed to dump the runoff water directly into the street. We need to install a connection into the stormwater sewer system. $40,000 is the estimated cost.
St. Mary of the Nativity – Bell Tower Leak Repair
The roof membrane in the bell tower at St. Mary church is leaking and must be fixed or replaced. The Estimate is $20,000
WE’RE TAKING A NEW STEP—TOGETHER As one united parish family, we’re doing something new—something no parish in our diocese has yet attempted. For the first time, we are coming together across four church sites to take shared responsibility for the care of all our sacred spaces. This is a bold step, but a necessary one. We’re asking every household to prayerfully consider a gift toward our goal of $500,000 to complete urgent repairs and prepare for any unexpected needs. Any extra funds raised will go toward future phases—because each of our churches matters, and each will have its turn. Please join us. We are one parish—and this is our shared home.
CAMPAIGN PRAYER
Loving and gracious God, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude
for the abundant blessings You pour into our lives each day. Lord, all that we have is a gift from You. Strengthen our faith and deepen our trust, that we may remain united in hope and purpose. Fill us with a generous spirit as we support our parish campaign, entrusted to us for the good of Epiphany of the Lord Parish. Guide our efforts to preserve and renew the spaces where we worship, learn, and serve together. Bless the work of our hands and the offerings we bring. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, and the intercession of St. Joseph, St. Mary, St. Albert the Great, and the Most Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, may we complete this work with joyful hearts and unwavering faith. Amen
