OUR MISSION
TO CREATE PRAYER SHAWLS FOR THOSE IN OUR PARISH FAMILY AND COMMUNITY AS A GIFT FOR HEALING, PROTECTION, STRENGTH, COURAGE AND CELEBRATION AND TO BRING HOPE, COMFORT, PEACE, LOVE AND PRAYERS THROUGH THE WORK OF OUR HANDS IN CHRIST.
Do you knit or crochet? Are you interested in comforting other parishioners in their time of need? We are looking for several people interested in knitting/crocheting prayer shawls. A prayer shawl is a handmade shawl that is knit/crocheted in prayer from one person for another, to warm the recipient spiritually and physically as they journey through a difficult time in their lives. Directions for making the prayer shawl are provided and you knit/crochet at your own pace. Shawls are made prayerfully by our crafters, prayed over by our school children and are blessed by our priest. They are given to people who need our support in any way: sick, grieving the loss of a loved one, recovering from an operation, distressed, whatever the need, and regardless of church affiliation.
You can help in this work and be a part of this ministry by: Requesting a blanket for a loved one, making a blanket or shawl, or committing to pray for those receiving a blanket or shawl.
