Traveling Chalice

The purpose of The Traveling Chalice is to encourage families and/or individuals to pray for vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life, especially for those whom God might be calling from our Parish family right here at Epiphany Parish. Praying for vocations is the most powerful way to support vocations. A vocation is a call from the Holy Spirit, a gift from God that is nurtured in prayer, to live a religious life. Parishioners are encouraged to host the Traveling Chalice for one week in their home (Saturday/Sunday thru Friday), and are asked to pray for vocations daily. If/when a member of our parish accepts God’s call to a vocation, the Traveling Chalice will be gifted to them as they begin their mission. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of growing God’s Kingdom!
Our parish is blessed to have 2 Chalices to pray with. When you sign up below please indicate the Mass Location, Time and Date you will be attending and also if you would like the priest to ANNOUNCE your reception of the Chalice. If you wish to attend the Saturday vigil Mass, sign up for the Sunday slot of that same weekend and indicate that you will receive the chalice at vigil Mass. We do encourage you to accept this Chalice publicly during the Mass as a testament to the importance of praying for vocations! Otherwise you could receive it in the sacristy after Mass. Please return the Chalice to the office of the location you received the Chalice by noon on the Friday that ends your week. Contact the Parish Center with any questions at 608-837-7381.
