Luke House is the name of building where meals are served,
310 South Ingersoll Street Madison. Luke House got its name from the address in the Gospel of Luke Chapter 3 verse 10 it says:
When the people asked Jesus "What are we to do, then?" He answered: "Whoever has two shirts must give one to the man who has none, and whoever has food must share it." This is the basic philosophy of Luke House. It isn't about offering a meal because the guests are needy and we aren't, it's because we HAVE food to share, so we share it.
Our Mission is simple: We feed the hungry, no questions asked. Our guests show up and we feed them.
At Epiphany of the Lord Parish, we have 2 opportunities monthly to share our food so that others might eat - the 1st Tuesday and the 4th Tuesday of every month. If you are interested in serving at Luke House, please arrive between 5-5:30pm on Tuesday on the 1st or 4th Tuesday. Dinner is served from 5:45-6:30pm. We are generally done by 7:15pm with the clean-up.
1ST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH is coordinated at Sacred Hearts Church (221 Columbus Street).
Please deliver food to the Parish center when the office is open or in the parking lot behind the Parish Center, between 9am-9:30am on the Tuesday of our service date. The meal includes: casserole, pickles, applesauce, bread, milk and desserts. Use the Signup Genius for items needed and to volunteer to serve.
